Orientation

Orientation will cover how the program works, set expectations for working together, etc. You don't need to prepare anything but there is a section where we ask everyone to introduce themselves.

Office Hours

Office hours are hour long sessions between you and a partner. You are welcome to ask partners for help with anything but they typically have the following structure.

  1. Review Metrics – Start by reviewing your metrics scorecard (see below). This aligns you and the partner on how things are going.
  2. Discuss – If you are hitting your targets, the conversation will be about figuring out what’s working and how to do more of it. If you are not hitting your targets, the conversation will be about figuring out what’s not working, what we can can learn from it and what to do next.
  3. Making Bets – You should be able to walk out of office hours with tangible things you’re going to work on to hit your targets. We call these bets because (1) you’re not sure if they will work, (2) if they don’t, you lose money and time and (3) there’s strategy to placing bets correctly.

Strong founders prepare for office hours to maximize their time with partners. That typically means they have their metrics updated, a list of discussion topics and are taking notes. We encourage founders to do this but not everyone does.

You can book with as many partners as you want in a given week but only one session per partner. Office Hours are booked through Calendly.

Lead Partners

All companies are assigned a lead partner. We ask that you book with your lead partner once a week for the first month.

We have lead partners for the following reasons.

  1. Primary Contact – If you need help and are not sure who to go to, start by talking to your lead partner. The lead partners will either help you themselves or find someone else who can help them.
  2. Continuity – Often it takes 2 or 3 office hours before getting to the source of whatever problems the startup is facing. That process can be slow if founders are meeting with different partners each time. We like to have one partner who understands the startup well.
  3. Build Rapport – We will likely have to push you in ways that make them uncomfortable. In those cases, it helps to have a partner who you’ve gotten to know.

We will announce lead partner assignments at Orientation.

Current and Past Partners

Group Office Hours

Group office hours are hour long sessions, every other week, where companies meet in groups of 4 with 2 or more partners.
